Believe & Have Faith

God is truly amazing. I love when He uses people to teach me lessons. There was a resident at my job who was very persistent. When she asked a question, she wanted you to tell her what she wanted to hear and nothing less.

“When are we going home mam?” she’d ask. When told her I wasn’t sure, she would ask me if she was going home tomorrow. “Maybe” I’d reply not knowing what to say. “Boy, I sure hope so” she’d say back as she stared up at the ceiling. Within the next hour, she’d ask me the same question. So, I thought of a different way to answer, “Well, did you pray about it?” I’d ask, then she’d begin to pray. Every time she asked me I told her to pray. When someone would come into her room she’d ask them the same question. Some of them would tell her that she wasn’t going home anytime soon. she would ask if she was going home tomorrow and wouldn’t stop asking until they told her yes.

After months of being at my job, she left. I’m not sure If she went home, but being spending time with her taught me an important lesson. She taught me that I should believe that God will work out my situations no matter it look like or what people say about them. He might not do it today, but he might do it tomorrow. It may even take a few tomorrows, but that’s okay. It’s up to me to believe that he’s going to do it.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

She saw it herself leaving the facility before her natural eye saw it. She knew in her heart that she was getting out, no matter what we told her. There were plenty times when I prayed that she left as well. The way she believed made me want it for her.

I thank God for bringing her into my life to show me an example of what believing God really looks like.
