As I sit here thinking about the next thing that I’m going to write, I reflect on my life. The only thing that comes to mind is time. I’ve wasted so much of the time that God gave me. I’m one of those people who are “busy” but not really. You know, those people who are busy doing nothing. Looking back, I am reminded of how precious time is. Once it is wasted, there’s no way of getting it back. We should Live the life that God is calling us to live while we are still here. Jesus fulfilled everything that he was told to do before he left this earth, why can’t we do the same?
LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered–how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath Psalm 39:4-5
Today, I vow not to waste any more time, because I don’t know when my last breath will be. It’s time to focus on the task that God gave me while I’m still alive and stop pretending like I have all the time in the world.
